How to Make Hareer Murabba:
Ingredients:
- 15-20 ripe hareer (Indian mulberries or Ber)
- 1.5 to 2 cups sugar (adjust according to sweetness preference)
- 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 2-3 cloves (optional)
- 1-2 cinnamon sticks (optional)
- Water (for cooking)
Method:
- Prepare the Hareer: Wash the hareer fruits thoroughly and remove any seeds. You can keep them whole or cut them into smaller pieces if desired.
- Boil the Hareer: In a pan, add water and bring it to a boil. Add the hareer fruits and cook them for 5-10 minutes, allowing them to soften. Drain out the water and set the fruits aside.
- Make the Syrup: In the same pan, add sugar and a little water to create a syrup. Stir it well and let it simmer until the sugar dissolves completely and the syrup thickens.
- Add Spices and Hareer: Add the cooked hareer fruits to the syrup, along with cardamom powder, cloves, and cinnamon sticks (if using). Cook the mixture on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the syrup to thicken further and coat the fruits.
- Cool and Store: Once the syrup is thickened and the hareer fruits are well coated, remove the pan from the heat. Let the murabba cool down completely before transferring it to an airtight jar for storage.
